Fairfield Inn Durham Southpoint is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Marriott property in Durham, NC. You will balance guest relationships, service excellence, and financial performance while fostering a positive team culture.

The ideal candidate has 2–5+ years of GM experience with Marriott or a similar brand, proven financial results, and the ability to lead across hotel departments. A hands-on leader who thrives in a busy hospitality environment is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5+ years of General Manager experience with Marriott or another major hotel brand.
• Proven track record delivering strong financial results and outstanding guest satisfaction scores.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams across all hotel departments.
• Strong operational knowledge of hotels, housekeeping operations, and F&B needs.
• Skilled in revenue management, budgeting, labor planning, and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring alignment with Marriott brand standards and company procedures.
• Drive performance across guest satisfaction, occupancy, revenue management, and GOP targets.
• Oversee department leaders and ensure training, coaching, and development for staff.
• Hire, develop, and retain high-quality team members while maintaining a positive workplace.
• Produce and analyze financial and operational reports, coordinating with Corporate teams for accuracy.
• Partner with Sales to grow corporate, group, and transient business within the RTP market.
• Engage in outside sales calls and maintain relationships with nearby businesses, hospitals, and partners.
• Conduct regular property inspections to uphold cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, labor, purchasing, inventory, and expenses with disciplined oversight.
• Maintain compliance with brand requirements, local regulations, and employment laws.
• Lead a strong service culture through daily communication, recognition, and follow-through.
