Job summary

Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA seeks a General Maintenance professional to support engineering operations, property upkeep, and guest comfort. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and asset protection in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

You will work under the Chief Engineer, follow SOPs, and collaborate across departments to ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining safety and high standards of quality at our historic hospitality group.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPO and appliance repair certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience is preferred.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintains property assets and assists the Chief Engineer with preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections and capital expenditures.
• Assists guests by addressing requests in a friendly manner and providing high-level service.
• Identifies maintenance concerns and provides effective solutions.
• Follows standard operating procedures and works with the Chief Engineer to learn and execute SOPs.
• Collaborates with other departments and completes duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities in the engineering department.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and uses required PPE; adheres to safety procedures and hotel emergency protocols.
• Manages own workload by planning and prioritizing tasks and attending required meetings.
