Job summary

Midas Hospitality is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering department, overseeing maintenance, life safety systems, and capital projects for a hotel property. You will drive preventative programs, manage budgets, and ensure safe, efficient operations while maintaining guest satisfaction.

The role demands hands-on leadership, technical depth in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related trades, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience is required.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
• Experience managing maintenance programs and budgets.
• Ability to diagnose complex issues and implement solutions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to operational needs.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Engineering department.
• Develop short- and long-term maintenance plans to protect assets.
• Manage preventative maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to maximize guest satisfaction.
• Monitor life safety systems and ensure OSHA and codes compliance.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate outside contractors.
• Develop department budgets and manage expenses within approved budgets.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
