Job summary

Midas Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering department of a hotel property. You will oversee preventive maintenance, manage staff, and control department expenses while protecting assets and ensuring guest comfort.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, plus proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to sustain safe, efficient operations around the clock.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance or related trade.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs, budgets and capital projects.
• Ability to diagnose complex issues and solve effectively.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and develop Engineering staff with safety focus.
• Oversee daily Engineering operations, PM schedules, priorities.
• Develop and execute short/long-term maintenance plans.
• Oversee life safety systems and hotel infrastructure maintenance.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to maximize guest satisfaction.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate external contractors.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Develop departmental budgets and manage expenses within budget.
