Job summary

Midas Hospitality, LLC seeks a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering department at our Charlotte hotel. You will oversee preventive maintenance, building systems, safety programs, and cost control while developing engineering staff and vendor relationships.

You are a proactive problem-solver with strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, and you will ensure guest comfort, asset protection, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, building operations, or related skilled trades.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing maintenance teams.
• Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, carpentry, and building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and develop Engineering associates while promoting safety and teamwork.
• Manage daily Engineering operations, maintenance schedules, and departmental priorities.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term maintenance plans to protect hotel assets.
• Oversee maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hotel equipment while ensuring brand standards and compliance.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to maximize guest satisfaction and room availability.
• Monitor life safety systems and ensure OSHA compliance and local codes.
• Oversee vendor relationships and outside contractors for repairs and projects.
