Job summary

maman is a French bakery, café and lifestyle brand with locations across North America. The Runner role focuses on delivering an exceptional dining room experience for every guest, supporting both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house teams, and representing our service standards with warm, attentive hospitality.

You will manage service steps, assist with food delivery, ensure accurate packaging for third‑party orders, maintain cleanliness, and participate in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest‑first mindset.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, team‑oriented attitude and willingness to support others.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the dining room to ensure guests feel welcomed and comfortable.
• Set tables with silverware and napkins and offer water upon seating.
• Follow all steps of service (Smile, Engage, Name, Thank You) in every guest interaction.
• Build rapport with returning guests and foster relationships with regulars.
• Investigate and resolve guest concerns with the support of the team leader on shift.
• During weekday service, run food orders to tables, bus items to BOH, and replenish water/cutlery stations.
• Ensure accuracy and proper packaging for third‑party delivery and catering orders.
• Support adherence to SOPs related to 3PD and catering.
• Assist with restocking duties at end of shift using closing checklists.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc projects to support daily operations.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout guest and team areas; clear cups and napkins.
• Assist with restroom checks to keep bathrooms clean and stocked.
• Support daily, weekly, and monthly deep‑clean tasks as assigned.
• Notify General Manager of equipment or supply needs.
• Work collaboratively with FOH and BOH teams and help teammates during peak periods.
