Job summary

WellSpan Health seeks a Hospital Telecommunication Operator for the Evangelical Community Hospital Patient Access unit. The role handles a 24/7 hub, routing calls, and supporting emergency communication. PRN schedule; hours vary by department needs.

Responsibilities include answering calls, routing to departments, assisting with information, paging, on-call coordination, and documenting events. Requires HS diploma or GED and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience; switchboard experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and verab verbal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally with excellent customer service.
• Screen and route calls to appropriate departments or patient locations.
• Assist callers with general information and inquiries.
• Manage hospital paging systems and on-call schedules.
• Support emergency communications and coordination during incidents.
• Log and document calls and critical events for shift handoffs.
• Provide first-level troubleshooting for communication devices.
