Job summary

Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH is seeking a Switchboard PBX Operator to support the Information Desk and Telecommunication Office. You will route calls, provide directions, and handle emergency alerts using the Spok Console Suite.

This part-time role requires a High School diploma and ideally 1 year of hospital switchboard experience, with emphasis on patient privacy and professional, welcoming service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year hospital switchboard/communications experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and directions to patients, visitors and staff.
• Operate telecommunication systems to answer, assess, and route calls.
• Respond to and manage emergency requests and alarms.
• Greet, direct and assist visitors at the Information Desk.
• Maintain confidentiality of all PHI and hospital information.
• Coordinate with Admissions, Security, Valet, and Patient Transport Services.
• Use Spok Console Suite to provide information and directions.
• Monitor and respond to department and hospital-wide communications.
• Assist staff, physicians, and patients with outgoing calls.
