Job summary

Monadnock Community Hospital is seeking a detail‑oriented Switchboard Operator to serve as the hospital receptionist, manage calls, route to departments, and operate the paging system.

The role requires a high school diploma (additional customer service training a plus) and prefers prior switchboard or customer service experience. Part‑time, 20 hours/week, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in customer service or communications is a plus.
• Experience in switchboard or similar customer service roles preferred.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly with patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Assist with paging staff and relay urgent messages.
• Greet callers and provide accurate information or direct to the proper department.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Operate the switchboard system and perform basic clerical duties.
