Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a dedicated switchboard operator to route calls, initiate emergency codes, and coordinate on‑call schedules across hospital departments. You will monitor alarms, relay information to staff, and assist patients and physicians with interpreter services as required.

Responsibilities

• Use established scripts in answering and processing calls.
• Transfer internal calls within the requested time frame.
• Route calls to requested destinations promptly.
• Operate overhead paging and notify personnel as needed.
• Answer code telephones quickly and coordinate emergency codes.
• Reference on-call schedules and notify the appropriate staff.
• Set up next day schedules and coordinate interpreter services.
• Provide equipment to hearing-impaired patients as required.
