Job summary

UVA Community Health seeks a Guest Services Representative I to welcome patients and visitors at the ED lobby, guiding them to the appropriate locations and providing essential hospital information. This role supports the front desk operations Monday through Friday, 4:30pm–8:00pm, and requires strong communication and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, and will maintain confidentiality while helping guests navigate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for those hired after November 2024.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Effective communication skills with diverse backgrounds and levels of authority.
• Must be detail oriented with problem solving and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests arriving at the lobby entry points.
• Provide directions and oversee lobby traffic and waiting areas.
• Provide general hospital information and assist with inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality and use hospital systems as needed.
• May be asked to travel between campus buildings and remote facilities.
