Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn seeks a Supervisor of Engineering to oversee daily operations, maintenance staff, and plant systems in a hospital setting. You will supervise work orders, monitor HVAC systems, boilers, and alarms, and ensure proper operation of critical facilities.

The role requires 5+ years’ related experience, a high school diploma, and NYCFD Fire Certifications. Preference for trade school graduates with hospital experience. Excellent communication across all levels is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years related experience in hospital engineering/maintenance.
• Substantial experience on boilers, air conditioning and maintenance field.
• Q01 COQ Refrigeration Engineer required upon hire.
• NYCFD Certificates of Fitness G35, F36, S95, G17, S12-S14 required (within 45 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as required.
• Supervise daily operations and maintenance staff.
• Distribution of work orders and check for completion.
• Monitor office computerized systems, HVAC, boilers, A/C units, alarms etc.
• Monitor and service fire alarm systems, and medical gases.
• Monitor, service and repair high and low pressure boilers.
• Monitor, service and repair emergency generators and Co-Gen.
• Teaching and training different trades.
• Supervise construction and painting projects.
• Monitor and keep records of statement of conditions.
• Inspection and upkeep of all mechanical rooms.
• Capable to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
