Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Building Engineer to manage facility infrastructure across multiple locations. You will supervise engineering, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and maintenance tasks to ensure safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities include feasibility studies, budgets, bidding, progress tracking, and coordinating with internal teams. A technical HVAC certification and related experience are required, with a preference for a mechanical engineering degree.

Qualifications

• HVAC system operation, maintenance, and safety awareness.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Strong problem-solving and prioritization under pressure.
• Effective communication with trades and management.
• Experience with building management systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in feasibility studies, budgets, and schedules for projects.
• Supervise engineering, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and maintenance tasks.
• Inspect HVAC, electrical, plumbing and safety systems; report deficiencies.
• Coordinate with users and support groups; maintain project files.
• Prepare bidding documents and monitor contractor performance.
• Manage energy savings opportunities and cost controls.
• Oversee rehabilitation projects like HVAC replacements and roof work.
