Job summary

Eskenazi Health is seeking a Telecommunications Representative I to manage critical hospital communications. You will handle switchboard operations, activate urgent medical alerts, and coordinate on-call messaging to physicians and staff using Epic and Amion systems.

This role also includes disaster response duties and maintaining secure communications across departments. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years’ experience as a phone operator.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school education or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum two years’ experience as a phone operator.

Responsibilities

• Responds to switchboard calls and urgent overhead announcements (Code Blue, Rapid Response, Stroke One).
• Assists with emergency notifications and secure messaging.
• Maintains hospital communications files and coordinates on-call schedules.
• Operates messaging systems and ensures accurate updates for departments.
