Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Telecommunications Operator to receive, route, and respond to a high volume of calls, provide information to patients, visitors, physicians and staff, and support paging and emergency communication systems.

This role requires excellent customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior call center experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate multi-line systems to receive, process, and route calls accurately.
• Serve as first contact, providing information on services, departments and locations.
• Utilize paging and notification systems for messages and emergencies.
• Assist callers and staff with information requests and referrals as needed.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient care and safety.
• Document activity, logs, and report issues to leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all communications.
• Support routine, urgent and emergency communications as required.
