Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Telecommunications Operator to manage internal and external calls, paging, and public address communications across the hospital in alignment with Emergency Preparedness protocols.

Responsibilities include contacting on-call teams, coordinating language interpretation requests, and monitoring alarms and emergency codes. The role requires strong customer service, problem solving, and documentation skills within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications within a hospital setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital operations helpful.
• Experience in a medical office environment is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Responds, prioritizes and navigates all internal and external calls in a prompt, courteous manner, including patient information and transfers.
• Maintains pagers and site-specific devices; troubleshoots caller problems and requests.
• Uses paging system, two-way radio, and portable phones; informs On Call Teams and documents per site protocol.
• Monitors alarms and emergency notifications; responds to codes and site policies.
• Organizes and updates hospital directory; tracks pager assignments and orders department language phones; attends staff meetings as needed.
• Documents calls, alert types, and response outcomes; coordinates language line requests and connects callers with language line personnel.
• Coordinates calls for On Call Teams and notifies appropriate personnel of responses.
