Job summary

Compassus in Ankeny, IA seeks a Nurse Practitioner - PPV to provide compassionate palliative and hospice care, performing assessments, symptom management, and education in collaboration with the Medical Director and IDT. You will work across settings to promote comfort and quality of life for patients and families.

You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, coordinate with PCPs, order tests and medications as licensed, and participate in care planning and after-hours coverage as

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted NP license in Iowa.
• Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care is preferred.
• Experience in palliative/hospice care or home health settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency assessments for hospice and palliative care patients.
• Provides physical and emotional care to support patients and families in crisis.
• Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory and radiology tests within scope.
• Prescribes medications including controlled substances as licensed and delegated.
• Collaborates with Medical Director, Attending Physician, and IDT to coordinate care.
