Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support palliative and hospice care across patient home settings. The NP will perform routine and emergency assessments, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the Medical Director and IDT to manage symptoms and care planning.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Nursing, an NP license, and board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (preferred).

Qualifications

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and regulations.
• Other Skills: English proficiency, organization, time management; flexible schedule and travel ability.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency assessments in hospice/palliative care settings.
• Records observations, treatments, and other pertinent information.
• Communicates findings with Medical Director, Attending Physician, and IDT.
• Provides physical and emotional care to patients and families, supporting comfort and goals of care.
• Orders, performs, and interprets labs and radiology tests within scope; prescribes medications.
• Ensures compliance with collaborative agreements and CMS billing and coding.
