Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, assisting Caretenders within the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment and education under a supervising PT. This role supports home health patients with exercise, gait training, and functional activities.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle or reliable transportation.
• Ability to function in home settings regardless of client demographics.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home PT practice and adhere to the supervising PT’s plan of care.
• Instruct and assist patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and other health team members on therapy within PT assistant scope.
