Job summary

Optum Caretenders, part of the UnitedHealth Group family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for home care to improve patient well-being under the plan of care set by the supervising PT.

The role includes treating patients, educating caregivers, and coordinating with the health care team. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified new hires, with comprehensive benefits and a weekday full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Following state laws governing physical therapy in home care and adhering to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, gait training, ADL, transfers and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports patient responses and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patients, family, and other health team members in therapy within scope of practice.
