Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care. The role includes following state laws, coordinating with the supervising PT, and educating patients and families.

Primary responsibilities include assisting with active and passive exercises, gait and ADL training, and monitoring patient responses. A supportive team environment and growth opportunities are highlighted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of client characteristics.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy home care and the plan of care with supervising PT.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercises and gait training.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate care with the health team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy areas within PT scope.
