Job summary

Optum every day is focused on helping people live healthier lives. The home health division (Caretenders, part of LHC Group) seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver treatment, educate patients, and support plan of care under a supervising PT.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified new hires, with a weekday schedule and robust benefits. Responsibilities include administering therapeutic exercises, assisting with gait and mobility, and coordinating with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Current license/certification to assist physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (or reliable public transportation).
• Ability to work in diverse home environments.
• Weekend rotation availability.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and the supervising PT’s plan of care.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, and safety.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate with care team as needed.
• Educate patient, family, and care team on therapy within the PT assistant scope.
