Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled home health care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence in patients at home.

The role requires a CAPTE-accredited PTA program graduate, current state licensure, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of PTA experience in home health or a plan for mentoring if less.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA educational program.
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTAs entering home health care; or regional clinical leaders' approval with mentoring/residency involvement.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and in accordance with the plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment and any changes to the supervising PT/physician.
• Promotes wellness and prevention and documents supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Monitors patient response to therapy and documents outcomes.
• Participates in care conferences, in-services, chart audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and coordinates follow-up care with other providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
