Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through Optum and LHC Group, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment and education in home care, following a plan of care from a supervising PT.

In this role you will instruct patients in exercises, coordinate with the care team, and ensure adherence to state laws. The position offers per-visit and hourly pay within a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and follow the treatment plan defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT and care team the patient's response to treatment.
• Coordinates care with other healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Instructs patient, family, and others in therapy within the scope of the PTA.
