Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver skilled home health services under a Physical Therapist's supervision. You will implement treatment plans designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence while ensuring patient safety at home.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited PTA program per CAPTE requirements.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ year PTA experience in home health preferred; mentoring if less.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient responses and changes to treatment.
• Assists with wellness, prevention, and patient education.
• Documents supervisory activities and patient records.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts care as directed by PT.
