Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled home health care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, delivering individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance and independence.

You will work with patients, caregivers and the interdisciplinary team, document progress in the medical record and participate in quality improvement activities to ensure safe, effective care at home.

Qualifications

• Graduate from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current license to practice as PTA in state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of PTA home health experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision of a PT.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment.
• Documents supervisory activities in medical records.
• Promotes wellness and coordinates with care team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
