Job summary

Decatur Morgan HomeCare, a part of LHC Group and aligned with the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients at home under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

You will perform treatments, provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve well-being, following the established plan of care. Licensure, driving capability, and weekend availability are required to join our team.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and the supervising PT's treatment plan; perform only approved procedures and suggest changes as needed.
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment; coordinate care with the health team.
• Educate patient, family, and care team on therapy within scope of physical therapy assistant.
• Provide care in home settings regardless of age, race, creed, or financial condition.
