Job summary

At Home Health, part of the LHC Group and Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support in-home patient care. You will deliver treatment, provide exercise instruction, and patient education per the established plan of care under supervision of a PT.

Responsibilities include adhering to state laws, guiding patients through exercises, documenting responses, and coordinating with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home health physical therapy and perform only procedures qualified and trained for; report changes in plan of care to the supervising PT
• Instruct and assist patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and care team; coordinate care with other health professionals as appropriate
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and health team members in therapy within PTA scope
• Function effectively in diverse home settings regardless of patient demographics
