Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for full-time day shifts in Rhode Island. You will provide PT services under supervision, document patient progress, and coordinate with supervising staff to support patient wellness at home.

Requirements include licensure as a PTA in the state, graduation from an accredited PTA program, and CPR certification. Minimum experience preferred; mentoring may be available for newer grads.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program per CAPTE.
• One year of physical therapy experience in home health preferred; less than a year requires regional approval and mentoring.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under supervision and in accordance with the plan of care.
• Observe, record and report patient responses and changes to supervising PT and clinical staff.
• Document supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Promote wellness and prevention and coordinate follow-up care with the admitting agency.
