Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver PT services in home health settings under supervision of a licensed PT. You will observe patient responses, document progress, and coordinate care with the care team to promote safe, effective rehabilitation at home.

Qualifications include PTA license in the assigned state and CPR certification; one year of PTA home health experience is preferred. This is a full-time, day-shift role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an accredited PTA educational program as set by CAPTE.
• One year related PTA experience in home health care; mentorship/residency if less than one year.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment and progress.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Documents supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Monitors patient response to therapy and documents changes.
• Participates in care conferences, in-services, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the admitting agency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
