Job summary

Amedisys is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant in Pittsfield, MA for a full-time daytime role. You will provide PT services under the supervision of a licensed PT, document patient progress, and contribute to wellness and prevention initiatives while working in a home-health setting.

Requirements include a CAPTE-accredited PTA program graduate and current PTA license, with CPR certification and at least one year of related PTA experience; mentoring may be required for less experienced

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant (state-specific).
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program as set by CAPTE.
• One year related PTA experience for home health care or equivalent.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the supervision of a PT and per the plan of care.
• Observes, records and reports patient response to treatment and changes in condition to supervising staff.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Includes documentation of supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitors and documents patient response to PT intervention.
• Participates in patient care conferences, in-services, chart audits, quality improvement activities, OBQI/OBQM and peer-review activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of information relating to the PT-client relationship.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the admitting agency and other care providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
