Job summary

CHRISTUS Homecare, part of the LHC Group and within the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver treatment, exercise instruction and patient education under a supervising PT in patients' homes.

The role emphasizes adherence to the plan of care, collaboration with the healthcare team, and support for families. Weekend rotation is required; CPR and licensure are current; a valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home care physical therapy and work under the supervising PT.
• Instructs and assists patients with active and passive exercise, gait and functional training.
• Observe, document and report patient responses to treatment and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and care team on therapy within the scope of the PTA.
