Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will perform treatment, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients to enhance their well-being.

Primary responsibilities include following supervising PT care plans, instructing patients in exercises, and coordinating with the healthcare team. CPR certification is preferred and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and plan of care under supervising PT; perform only trained procedures.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait and ADL training.
• Observes and reports patient responses; coordinates care with the health care team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within scope.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of client background.
