Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care. Responsibilities include assisting with therapy, teaching exercises, and coordinating with the healthcare team in home care settings.

Requirements include state licensure/certification, a valid driver''s license, and the ability to work a weekend rotation. CPR certification is preferred or obtainable within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver''s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and perform only procedures defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
