Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support home care patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include instructing patients in exercises, monitoring progress, and coordinating with the care team. Availability for weekend rotations is required.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Able to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and act within the supervising PT's plan.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and safety training.
• Monitor and report patient responses to treatment to the PT, nurse supervisor, or physician.
• Educates patient, family, and care team on therapy within the PTA scope.
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and with varied client conditions.
