Job summary

Optum, through Deaconess HomeCare (a part of LHC Group), seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction to improve patient well-being under the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home care physical therapy and adhere to the supervising PT’s plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients with active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate care with the healthcare team and supervising PT/physician.
• Educate patient, family, and care team on therapy within PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
