Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, in partnership with LHC Group and Optum, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to implement treatment plans, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients in home care settings under a supervising PT.

This role prioritizes patient safety, adherence to state laws, and collaboration with the care team. Active licensure, a valid driver’s license, weekend availability, and CPR certification are preferred. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care under supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses, coordinating care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and health team in therapy within PT scope.
• Function in diverse home situations irrespective of patient background.
