Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and educate patients in home-based care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will follow a defined plan of care, instruct patients in exercises, and coordinate with nursing and physicians to promote patient well-being.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification (preferred) and ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, transferring and mobility assistance.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home-based physical therapy and implement the plan of care.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, and functional activities.
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment to supervising PT and care team.
• Coordinate with healthcare team to ensure safe, effective patient progress and adjust care as needed.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers about therapy within the PTA scope.
