Job summary

At Home Healthcare, part of LHC Group and a member of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients in their homes with treatment, exercise instruction, and education under the supervising PT.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing home care PT; perform only procedures qualified and trained for; report changes to supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active/passive exercise, gait, ADL, mobility and prosthetic training.
• Observes and records patient responses; coordinates care with nursing and physician teams.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and health team in therapy within PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of patient background.
