UnitedHealth Group’s affiliated Amedisys program invites you to join as a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant, delivering skilled care in patients’ homes under a supervising physical therapist. You will implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and safety, collaborating with patients, caregivers and the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program (CAPTE).
• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ year of PTA experience in home health preferred.
• If less than one year, regional leadership approval and mentoring/residency participation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides PT services under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment and changes in condition.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Documents supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Monitors and documents progress of PT interventions.
• Participates in patient care conferences and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations and coordinates with other providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
