Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver home health PT services under the direction of a supervising PT. You will assess patients, document progress, and coordinate care with other clinicians.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year of PTA/home health experience preferred; mentoring allowed if less than one year.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and plan of care.
• Observes, records and reports patient responses and changes to the supervising PT and physician.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Documents supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitors patient responses to therapy and documents progress.
• Participates in patient care conferences and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and coordinates with other care providers.
