Job summary

Optum Caretenders Home Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care, delivering compassionate care in home settings.

Primary responsibilities include following state laws, assisting with exercises, recording patient responses, coordinating with the healthcare team, and educating patients and families in therapy activities. Weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and perform only procedures authorized by supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional activities and safety.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and coordinate care with the health care team.
