Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• At least 1 year experience in Health Information Management or related clerical work.
• Must have competent Windows-based computer skills.
• Must speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to push/pull 40 pounds.
• Detail oriented with strong follow-through and data entry accuracy.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with physicians and other departments.
• Birth Registry coverage is required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of medical records by collecting, preparing, scanning, processing, and responding to inquiries.
• Open mail, send for and release medical information, and prepare records for scanning.
• File, copy, fax medical information and ensure accurate data entry into databases.
• Generate required reports and transmit data to governmental entities.
• Provide auditors with complete and accurate documentation.
