Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks an HIM Analyst to support the Health Information Management department with birth registry duties, scanning, and information release. This on-site role focuses on ensuring accurate records and compliance across facilities, with 100% on-site attendance required.

Responsibilities include chart defect tracking, indexing in the EHR, and assisting physicians with legal documents while ensuring policy adherence.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in health information or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of state laws and hospital policies for birth certificates and releases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assign medical record deficiencies to the provider for completion.
• Process legal birth certificates per state law and hospital policy.
• Retrieve, prep, scan and index documents; perform quality control in EHR.
• Release information to ensure compliance with policy and state/federal requirements.
• Research and resolve documentation issues on accounts.
• Perform proxy processing to comply with policy and requirements.
• Assist physicians with completing legal death certificates per policy.
• Cross-train to provide backup coverage for all HIM Technician functions.
