Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an HIM Processing Associate to maintain the integrity of medical records by collecting, preparing, scanning, processing and releasing information in a compliant, timely manner.

The position requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and Birth Registry coverage. Training will be provided; this is a full-time daytime role with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within the HIM department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required with at least 1 full year experience in Health Information Management or related role
• Competent computer skills with Windows-based experience
• Birth Registry familiarity or state laws/regulations proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of medical records by collecting, preparing, scanning, processing, copying and responding to medical record inquiries.
• Open mail, process releases of medical information, prepare records and tests for scanning, file, copy and fax medical information.
• Ensure accurate data entry into databases and timely transmission of data to governmental entities; support auditors with documentation.
