Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Document Imaging Specialist to protect and manage patient data confidentiality and accurate medical records. You will prep, scan, index, and perform quality audits of documents, ensuring integrity of the Legal Health Record, and collaborate with physicians to resolve deficiencies in the Epic EHR system.

A minimum of 2 years in a medical office or HIM education plus an HS diploma is required.

Qualifications

2 years of medical office experience required or equivalent in education (minimum of AAS in HIM).
Strong Knowledge of medical record format.
Ability to perform computer functions in a Windows environment.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with OnBase or Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

Capture paper records into OnBase with prep, scanning, indexing, and quality review.
Manage electronic images in OnBase and Epic EHR system.
Monitor queues and ensure timely completion of requests and documentation.
Validate demographic information and correct deficiencies per regulations.
Assist physicians with completing deficiencies and ensure legal health record integrity.
Support audits and ensure secure, accurate record handling.
