Job summary

Virtua Health is hiring a Health Information Management Clerk to protect patient data and ensure accurate electronic health records. You will preprocess and scan paper records, index images, and perform quality audits of medical records in OnBase and Epic.

The role supports physicians in EHR completion and deficiency tracking within a hospital HIM department. The position requires 2 years of medical office experience or equivalent HIM education, strong attention to detail, and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of medical office experience required or equivalent in education (minimum of AAS in HIM).
• Strong knowledge of medical record format.
• Ability to be detail-oriented and perform tasks at a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to operate scanning hardware preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospital HIM department preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protects and maintains the security and confidentiality of patient data and medical information.
• Preps, scans, indexes and quality audits medical record documents.
• Assists physicians in electronic health record completion and deficiency tracking.
• Manages document capture into OnBase and Epic systems.
• Monitors queues and ensures timely completion of medical records.
