Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Health Information Management Clerk to protect and maintain patient data confidentiality and ensure the integrity of clinical documentation in the electronic health record. You will prep, scan, index, and perform quality audits of medical record documents in a timely and accurate manner, aiding physicians in electronic completion as needed.

You will handle all aspects of preparing and distributing information from the legal health record, while maintaining

Qualifications

• 2 years of medical office experience required.
• Strong Knowledge of medical record format.
• Ability to operate scanning hardware preferred.
• Experience with Epic and OnBase preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for document capture of paper records into document management system (OnBase) and manages electronic images in OnBase and Epic.
• Assesses scanned images for accuracy and quality; maintain indexing queues and equipment.
• Monitor Epic In-basket work queues for MyChart and Release of Information requests.
• Ensure accuracy of demographic information and patient matching across systems.
• Validate physician deficiencies to ensure timely completion of legal health records.
• Provide guidance to physicians/providers for deficiency completion.
• Monitor completion of medical records and notify physicians with delinquent charts.
• Validate interfaces to ensure accurate clinical data in the EHR.
