Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Health Information Management document specialist to secure patient data and manage the workflow of medical record documentation. Responsibilities include prep, scan, index, and quality audits of clinical records, with a focus on accurate OnBase and Epic handling.

You will ensure timely completion of electronic record documentation, assist physicians in electronic completion, and maintain integrity of legal health records in accordance with policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• 2 years of medical office experience or equivalent in education (minimum of AAS in HIM).
• Strong knowledge of medical record format.
• Ability to use Microsoft Windows environment and basic computer functions.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy in tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication; customer service oriented.
• Experience with scanning hardware preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Capture paper records into OnBase including prepping, scanning, indexing, and quality review.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of scanned images and manage queues in OnBase and Epic.
• Process Epic In-basket work queues for MyChart, Release of Information, and PAT tasks.
• Verify demographic data and resolve patient merges/duplicates in Epic.
• Identify deficiencies and guide physicians to complete electronic health records.
• Monitor completion of delinquent charts and notify physicians as needed.
• Validate interfaces and resolve discrepancies in the EHR system.
• Assist with audit readiness and maintain secure handling of patient information.
