Job summary

Summit, a division of Elior North America, is seeking an experienced cook supervisor for the Virginia Beach Correctional Center kitchen. In this role you will oversee the staff, coordinate meal preparation, and ensure high quality, safe, scratch-made meals for inmates in a fast-paced facility.

Shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. You will train and supervise a team, enforce sanitation standards, and maintain portion control and presentation to meet established guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of culinary experience in a high-volume setting with scratch cooking.
• Knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supervising a team.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and train employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation to ensure timely meal service.
• Ensure portions, appearance and temperature meet high quality standards.
